I think it’s so cool that you reached out to me and asked me how the latin piano was coming. Truth is, I’ve been really busy with other things recently (mainly graduate school), but things are thankfully slowing down and I really need to get with the music again. Your message is totally the inspiration I was needing.

I have a pretty strong background in classical music (although my classical chops are not that great anymore), and a bit of improv, too. The latin stuff I’ve done up to now has been mostly what I can piece together by ear (which is not all that much), but I do have some salsa exercise books that I want to start using again. I have a lot to learn.

This is getting long, so I’ll just say that I would absolutely LOVE it if you wanted to send me some stuff you had composed, or just talk more about music sometime. Take care,
